Whenever I present my vision of quality over quantity, I often hear clients say they struggle with this principle because they get bored of their wardrobes.
Here are some truths I’ve explored with them:
1.You don’t need more clothes, you need better styling. The moment we start to explore the totality of the wardrobe, we discover countless new ways to play with what’s already there. A high-quality piece becomes interesting when you let it take on multiple roles.
2. You can undo your own creative constraints. When everything works seamlessly together, you have endless options. Quality gives you more ways to wear a piece, not fewer.
3. Boredom rarely means your wardrobe is wrong. More often, it means your idea of “cool” is built on a vision that doesn’t actually suit you. When you stop dressing for an imagined aesthetic and start dressing for your aesthetic, clarity returns.
4. Take time to play with your pieces. The items you haven’t touched in a while deserve a moment of attention. Pull them out, mix and match, experiment, this is how you rediscover your wardrobe.
5. Changing values in adulthood is challenging. Committing to quality and building a timeless wardrobe takes time. Create lists. Build moodboards. Make a plan. And ask for guidance when you need it, you don’t have to do it alone.
